Vehicle Description
Hello- I am selling my 01 Mercury Grand Marquis. I bought this from my friend in March who's brother died in February. The car was originally from Rockland Co NY. It was up here for about 8 years then the owner moved to Florida. The car was in FL for about 10 years. where it was garaged. The body paint looks new. The original owner bumped into a few things so he touched up the bumpers and added some red detail to the rear bumper.. The bumpers currently look OK but the rest of the car looks like new. If you touch up the bumper the car would look like new.
The original owner loved the car. He installed a white vinyl top a few years ago. He also added limo style courtesy lights on the side which give it a limo style. He also added chrome fender skirts and added a OEM hood ornament. The car was babied and was garaged kept in Florida and was always kept polished and clean. The front speakers were upgraded with poly prop speaker cones with dome tweeters and sound good.
The car rides and drives like new and handles great for a car this size. The car rides great for a bigger car.
I also replaced both rear tires. The front tires have about 70% life left. I also replaced both front rotors and brakes and flushed the fluids. I also replaced a front ABS sensor.
I recently replaced the fuel filter, oil change, PCV valve, air filter, belt, belt tensioner and idler wheel and thermostat and sealer, thermostat housing and upper radiator hose. I changed the antifreeze and added some sealer for the thermostat.
I also changed the driver side door switches because they stuck (they work great now). I also replaced the hood release cable because that was sticking a little (works great now). The only thing that I didn't tend to was the power pedal mechanism. It seams to only move a 1/4 inch and is a silly and almost a useless option anyway.
Its really a nice car. I was going to ship the car to California to my daughter but I will cost too much to ship. Its easier to sell it.
If you are local come for a test drive. If you have questions please send me a message.
Thanks,
John Feane
