Vehicle Description
Up for sale, my classic 1926-27 two door sedan. I've spent the last year working on it and it's time for me to move on. I did a frame off paint job, everything was stripped down to bare metal, painted, and reassembled. Many of the body panels were also stripped on the undersides and undercoated. I used automotive primer, base coat, and clear coat. There are some imperfections in the surface finish (runs, orange peel). This car has zero body filler anywhere on it, which allows dents and dings to show. It looks like someone had hit the passenger side fender on something (low impact damage only to the body), so the passenger fender and splash apron is wavy. The cabin/body itself is near perfect with only a couple tiny dings on the far back. Doors open and close like new.
Interior:
The interior is the same as what was in there when I got it. I pulled it all out for the paint job, then put it all back in. Some mouse damage here and there. Door panels are homemade by a previous owner. The seats have original upholstery under the newer fabric (the old upholstery isn't probably restorable but it's cool it's intact). Headliner is all gone, as is roof vinyl. This car will need a new roof kit (sold new online for $700-$800, or you could fabricate it yourself). Floorboards are missing (there should be four sections, two for the front, one for the middle, and one for the rear). Floorboards are sold new online.
The three rear windows are broken, and I have the pieces to trace them out. The windshield is badly cracked but intact in its frame. Door glass in both doors is undamaged.
Mechanically:
New wide whitewall tires, new tire flaps and tubes as well. Those tires will last many years. Wooden wheels are solid. I've gotten the car running a couple times, taking it on short drives (few miles) with a peanut can as a gas tank (I was driving it without a body, so therefor no gas tank). The original gas tank under the cowl holds liquid and currently has a couple gallons in it (put in earlier this week). All grease cups were cleaned out and topped off. When I drove the car, it stopped well by band brake and emergency brakes. First and second gear bands work, reverse doesn't. The car has a brand new wiring kit installed (bought from Macks Auto Parts), which I'm happy with. Electric starter works. I'm running the original 6V negative ground. Comes with old untested battery the car came with; the battery in the car in the pictures is borrowed. This car never had a speedometer or odometer, so miles are unknown. One headlight works (both headlights have new bulbs and thimbles) and the tail light works. Horn works. I believe the car needs a new on/off switch, which is $100 new.
The radiator is old and has a very small leak right at the top, but the leak is far enough up that you can see the antifreeze in there when you take the cap off. It ran fine with that radiator. The radiator is mounted with brand new springs sets, and the wooden pieces under the hood shelves are brand new (undercoated oak).
The car will have to be towed, and hasn't run in a few months. I can deliver the car all around Washington State and Portland if need be. Clean title. The car will be stored in the carport until the sale.
You will have a heck of a time finding a Model T complete like this. For a budget hobbyist, this car could be your weekend car with a few afternoons of work. Said best: this car has a strong foundation to build whatever you want, whether it be show car, weekend getaway car, or a tour/road trip car.
Car comes with a hood (patina clearcoat), extra coils, some rear end parts and axle shafts, a head, extra tubes, a parts radiator (to solder in a new core if you want), some bands and brake shoes, bearings, the matching spare tire, and more. I know this car inside and out, feel free to ask questions or make an offer.
