Vehicle Description
1947 international KB-6 Boom Truck
This one of a kind boom truck was originally custom built for use in the oil fields of Southern California and subsequently was acquired by the now defunct power company, Santa Fe Energy Co, Western Division and used to set wooden power poles in Eastern Oregon. It is completely original, though the engine, at some point was converted to run on propane for it spent most of its life out in the "boonies" where gas stations were few and far between. It was abandoned on a high desert ranch bought by a friend of mine and believed to have been in running condition when parked? It has a blue (or black) diamond 6 cylinder gas engine and 5 spd. manual transmission. The unique, custom welded boom extends over the cab and is powered by massive PTO driven hand lever and foot peddle operated cable winch. Bed is solid but weathered and original. Both body and interior are in good shape; shouldn't be a difficult restoration for someone familiar with vintage "corn binders". This truck is unique in all the world and it turned heads every time we stopped for fuel hauling it home. The truck is being sold with a Bill of Sale only, will load onto your trailer or transport at no cost within 75 miles of Newport, OR. 97365
