Vehicle Description
HIGHLIGHTS: Funky cool classic Chevrolet 3100 custom! Perfect cruiser with that desirable rat rod vibe! Talk about a unique vehicle! BODY OVERVIEW: For the age of the vehicle, the body is in surprisingly good shape. Make no mistakes, this Chevrolet pickup truck is not a trailer queen in any capacity-but it was never supposed to be one! The patina, dings, and other defects are all part of the intentionally weathered look. Underneath, there are patch repairs that appear to have been performed long ago as well as areas that have been modified to mate the 3100 chassis to what appears to be a slightly newer GM full-size car chassis. The exterior trim has been deliberately altered to achieve the current 'ratty' look. Overall, the body is in great "driver" condition, where you don't have to worry about door dings or someone sitting on the hood. PAINT CONDITION OVERVIEW: The paint job is yet another thing that was done on purpose! It appears that the blue paint is underneath the primer, and that it was done this way to go with the rat rod theme. There are scratches and chips throughout, as can be expected on a vehicle like this. Much like the body, the paint/primer is in good "driver" condition. Plus, you just can't beat that weathered look for a cool ratty vehicle like this! INTERIOR CONDITION OVERVIEW: The same ratty appearance continues into the interior, with no amenities other than what is necessary to drive the vehicle. The seat material, carpet, and door panels are in intentionally rough but serviceable condition, but not so nice that you'd feel bad tracking in sand from the beach or hopping in with dirty boots. MECHANICAL OVERVIEW: Under the hood is a small block Oldsmobile V8, which runs quite well despite the engine's outwards weathered appearance. The engine is hooked up to a TH400 3-speed automatic transmission. This puppy will get down the road just fine! Other upgrades include A-arm front suspension, power front disc brakes, and beer cap bumper bolts. WHAT YOU'LL LOVE ABOUT THIS CAR: If you're in the right mindset, there's so much to love! From the uniqueness of the truck itself, to the uncommon styling choices, to that rat rod theme, there are many fun points to choose from. WHAT YOU MIGHT HATE ABOUT THIS CAR: If you want a car that is show-ready with no defects, this is not the car for you. Such as any home-built hot rod like this, this 3100 has its fair share of casual mechanical issues. If you don't like wrenching on your classic, this is probably not a good fit. DOES IT NEED ANYTHING? It doesn't "need" anything urgently. It can be driven and enjoyed as is. That said, there are a few non-functional (or not present) items as noted at the bottom of this ad. WHAT BUYER IS LOOKING FOR THIS CAR? Whether you're looking for a cool truck to advertise for your business, or simply something super unique to turn heads at cruise-ins on the weekends, this 3100 could be a great option!
