Vehicle Description
All original California Classic
I bought this from a guy that had it for a long time. He got it from his father that had it for a long time also. I was helping him throughout the years keeping his cars running and helping him downsize some of his cars and parts. This was the last one he let go, sentimental value, I guess. It's a cool car, lots of patina. The paint is original. I had a friend of mine come up and buff it out. He did the best he could. It looks cool. No rust on the car. There is some on the underside on the front bar only (as shown). Under the rear seat is original paint. The carpet is glued to the floor or I would have shown that. I brought the car home, had some paint mixed up and painted the wheels, cleaned up the hub caps and put some new tires on it. Rebuilt the carb, put a new dual action fuel pump on it, (dual action works the wipers, and yes, they do work), new fuel tank and fuel sender. The under side of the car is nice and original. I washed off the mud after the pictures. The son put air shocks and lowering blocks on it in the early 2000's. It has single exhaust. The muffler is good, a little scratched up. It has an exhaust leak at the collectors (probably a gasket leak). I put new valve cover gaskets on, blasted and painted the covers and put on new V8 stickers. New chrome air cleaner, new thermostat, new water pump. While they were off, I blasted and painted the fan, pulley, water pump and thermostat housing. New plugs, wires, points and condenser. New cap and rotor and new coil. It has a good used battery. Original jack setup is still in the trunk. I have fiberglass fender skirts for it (they need work at the mounting stud areas). No rot in the trunk, only light surface rust. Old school pinstriping on the trunk lid. All the glass is nice. The windows roll up and down as the should. All the lights work, even the license plate light. Good shiny bright work, bumpers, grill, trim, etc. The seats are not all dried up but do have stains. The carpet is good except one small spot on the passenger rear. It will need a headliner. It's original but a little worn out. The glove box door was working, but now I can't open it. The car runs, drives and stops. The emergency brake works great. The brakes are probably going to need wheel cylinders, etc., from sitting. I would replace them. The clutch works well. Probably still getting the corrosion off and is working better every time I use it. The motor (272 cu. in. Y block) sounds great, no funny noises, no smoke. Clean CA title. $
Thanks,
