Vehicle Description
Price reduced by an additional $1,000 This is really a great replica fire chief car, but can be a daily driver or hot rod.
This 1955 Mercury started out as a daily driver from San Jose, Ca. and we transformed it into a replica Santa Paula Fire Chief car. It needed a new engine so we rebuilt the Y-block 292 over 15 years ago and it has less than 7K since being rebuilt. It has been converted to 12 volt and alternator. We added turbo mufflers and had power steering installed. It has a working rotating red light and siren. It has an original Motorola radio head, but operates a police /fire scanner in the glovebox. The Door sticker is a magnetic type and can be removed while being driven and there is a cover for the red light. If you choose to convert back to non-replica emergency vehicle, some minor body work and paint to remove the light and siren and you have a bright red classic car. If you want to return the vehicle to original 1955 you can remove the American Racing Wheels and tires and install the original 15” wheels, hub caps and attach the rear fender skirts (included with vehicle). There is only minor rust area inside of L/R fender. No evidence of flooring replacement or repairs. Asking $17k for this vehicle, (OBO). Cash, no shipping, no trades, pick-up only. We will consider lowering price if we retain the American mags and wheels (we have the stock tires and hubcaps)
