This 1960 BMW Isetta 300 was purchased by as a non-running project car in North Carolina, and it was subsequently relocated to California. The car is finished in two-tone red and beige over grey vinyl upholstery, and additional equipment includes chrome bumpers, a rear-mounted luggage rack, dual side mirrors, sliding side glass, a fabric sunroof panel, and a side-hinged ‘tropical’ front door with a single windshield wiper. The 297cc single engine turns over by hand but does not run, and it is paired with a four-speed manual transmission.
The body was refinished during previous ownership in two-tone red and beige. Equipment includes front and rear chrome bumpers, dual side mirrors, a chrome luggage rack, a gray vinyl sunroof panel, and a side-hinged ‘tropical’ front door with a single windshield wiper. There are a few touch-up spots on the left-front fender lip, along with paint cracks and chips on the front door and next to the upper door hinge. The rear center lens is also missing.
Beige-painted 10″ steel wheels with chrome BMW hubcaps are wrapped in Kumho Power Star tires. The left-rear hubcap is missing.
The cabin is accessed through a side-hinged front door with ‘tropical’ venting and features a single bench seat that is trimmed in two-tone vinyl gray upholstery along with matching interior panels and contrasting red carpeting.
The gearshift is situated to the driver’s left, and the three-spoke steering wheel sits ahead of a 60-mph speedometer flanked by three warning lights. The five-digit odometer shows 0 miles, and the true mileage is unknown.
A removable panel on the passenger side of the vehicle covers the 297cc single that turns over by hand. The carburetor is disconnected, and the battery and fan shroud are not included in the sale.
