A rare and remarkable grand touring roadster, this 1961 Alfa Romeo 2000 Touring Spider is an all original 2-owners from new sports car fresh from a recent restoration. The dramatic style is set off by Concours quality paintwork, all mechanicals have been professionally reconditioned and the spacious interior is complete with all the unique and difficult to source trim items in place. The odometer shows 114,392 kilometers (71,079 miles), believed to be correct.

Comprehensive restorations in Italy to very high standards including rust repairs, a bare metal paint job, redone interior, new top, and a full mechanical overhaul including an engine-out rebuild. New components include the clutch, brake system, ball joints, driveshaft coupling, new valves, top end etc. All systems and details were attended to and the car comes with a restoration book including over 400 photos of the process. It still has the original Italian Libretto (Italian title) and the original black metal license plate (from Florence) and authentication both from Alfa Romeo's Historical Registry & from independent Italian agencies presiding over vintage vehicles' collectability. Other ancillary items of interest included with the sale include vintage advertising slicks, road test magazines and the original operating manual.

The exterior is show ready from all angles with deep, smooth paintwork in the original shade, excellent chrome, all original trim, including the Touring badges, correct wheels and hubcaps and near new tires. The interior is complete and fully functional with clear gauges, all proper switch gear and the very rare plastic relief radio blanking plate and Touring ashtray. The upholstery and carpets are new. The trunk is complete with spare, new mats, and a new battery with system disconnect installed. Chassis is solid, all rust repaired, refinished and clean. The engine bay and matching numbers motor are well detailed, complete and present beautifully. The car retains the original Solex carburetors, just tuned and factory airbox.

Running character and all driving aspects - throttle response, transmission, clutch, suspension and steering are without issue and the Spider is fully ready to enjoy any adventure and able to meet any reasonable expectation of performance and drivability.

The car was imported into California and comes with a current California title.
