Vehicle Description
Price reduced to $65000 An original 1961 FUELIE, four speed Corvette Convertible, Blue/Silver- Blue and includes both tops. It's been restored to nice driver condition. Everything has been gone through and either fixed or replaced. Nice for show and shines and local car shows. Not a trailer queen, but a "Driver". Perfect for the local cruise spots.
The original motor is long gone, but a new slightly built 283ci. with a four barrel carb is currently in the vehicle. The fuel injection is all there and complete and goes with the vehicle (it does need to be rebuilt). The factory four speed trans has been completely gone through w/ a Hurst shifter. It shifts like butter. New clutch, rebuilt rear, new springs, shocks and all suspension parts replaced or restored, new carb, new alternator, radiator re-cored, New brakes and brake lines. It has only had four owners.
The fiberglass has been repaired and the vehicle restored in 2011, it was done locally, by a friend . There is not only a daily log of everything that was done , but also a video disc. The vehicle also has a ton of history research included. Just a small bit regarding history. It has quite a NHRA drag racing history, both in northern and southern California, from 1962 to 1970 . The paperwork goes with the vehicle. The paint job is a striking color combination, dark blue with a silver blue in the cove. All the interior has been replaced. I could go on all day, but you need to see it in person and drive it as well. It drives beautifully and sounds good too. If you don't want to be noticed... you shouldn't drive this car.
Like any project, it's never finished. Here is a list of things that don't work or need attention.
The speedometer doesn't work
The tac doesn't work
The clock doesn't work
The fabric top needs to be replaced
The radio is not original
The removeable hard top was not restored or painted
There are some very small cracks in fiberglass (just a couple)
The bumpers could use re-chrome
Remember this was restored for a Gentleman as a driver. It was his "Jay's" dream car and once it was complete he drove all the time. It's a long way from perfect and like all projects, always more to do. Jay passed away and it needs to go to a new home. If the fuel-injection was on it and functioning and it was restored slightly more, it would be worth between $100,000 and $150,000. But we are asking less than half that. Offers are welcome as well. Please call show contact info or text. I can send more pictures... Thanks for looking Steve
