Vehicle Description
Price reduced to $65,000 An original 1961 Fuel Injected, four speed, Corvette Convertible. Blue/Silver-Blue with both tops. It's been restored to nice driver condition. Everything has been gone through and either fixed or replaced. Nice for show & shines and local car shows. NOT a trailer queen, but a "Driver". Perfect for local cruise spots.
The original motor is long gone, but replaced with a slightly built 283 with a four barrel carb. The fuel injection is all there and complete. It goes with the vehicle ( it does need to be rebuilt). The factory four speed trans has been completely gone through, W/ a Hurst shifter linkage. It shifts like butter. New clutch, rebuilt rear end, New springs, shocks and all suspension parts have been replaced or restored. New carb, New alternator, New brakes and brake lines, all new upholstery, New exhaust and the radiator has been re-cored.
The fiberglass has been repaired and the vehicle restored in 2011. It was done here in Redding by a friend of the owners. There is not only a daily log of everything that was done, but also a video disc. The vehicle also has a ton of history research included. The vehicle has quite a NHRA drag racing history, both in northern and southern California. It was campaigned under the name of "Charlie" from 1962 to 1970. The paperwork goes with the vehicle. The paint is a striking color combination , dark blue with a silver blue in the cove. I could go on all day describing this beautiful vehicle, but you need to see it in person and drive it. It drives beautifully and sounds great good too. If you don't want to be noticed.... you shouldn't drive this car !!!!
Here is a list of things that don't work or need attention. Like any project, it's never finished
The speedometer doesn't work
The Tach doesn't work
The clock doesn't work
the fabric top needs to be replaced
the original removeable hardtop was not restored
There are some very small cracks in the fiberglass (just a couple)
the bumpers could use a re-chrome
Remember this vehicle was restored for a Gentleman (Jay) as a driver. It was his "Jays" dream car and once it was complete he drove it all the time. It's a long way from perfect and like all projects there is always more to do. Jay passed away and it needs a new home. If the fuel injection was on it and functioning and is was restored slightly more, it would be worth between $100,000 and $150,000. But we are only asking Less than half that. All offers are welcome and will be considered. Please call show contact info or text. I can send more pictures and answer questions... Thanks for looking Steve...
