Vehicle Description
Engine is a newer "peanut" head slant six, late 1970s to early 1980s vintage (still has mechanical lifters). Car starts easily and runs pretty good, carb has been cleaned but could use a proper rebuild and tune. Distributor has been converted to electronic ignition using a Pertronix kit, new plugs, wires, distributor cap and rotor as well. Alternator has been updated to a Mopar square-back unit with electronic voltage regulator. Battery charges, voltage is about 14.5 at idle. Good used gas tank and straps installed, new rubber fuel lines, pump and filter. New starter from a 1990s Dodge Magnum V8.
Just completed an overhaul of the brake system. New Mopar aluminum dual reservoir master cylinder, front disc conversion from AAJ brakes, new rear wheel cylinders, all new rubber lines and replaced one section of hard line in the rear. Pedal is firm and high. New wheel bearings, grease and seals up front with the new disc brakes. Rear drums are in good shape with about 50% shoe left.
Three speed manual trans shift on the column. All gears engage, clutch seems to work ok but I haven't had it on the road. It does run, drive and stop but I would still recommend it be trailered (tail lights are wired up to a brake light switch, tires are bad, seat needs restoration and so on). I have records and part numbers for all work done in a small, organized notebook so the next owner will always know what parts are not original.
The floors are shot in this car, but trunk floor is solid. Rear quarters are rusty, but front fenders, hood, doors and trunk are pretty solid from what I can tell. Car came from Arkansas, not originally a WI car. Interior is pretty rough, but all there. One of the rear leaf springs in broken, but I have a good set of springs in the trunk that are included. Good set of chrome Fury tail lights also included. Car is complete, not aware of anything missing.
Price is $2000 OBO, I have a clear WI title in my name. Car is stored at my friends house in Mukwonago, WI. Will consider trades, would be interested in a 1961 to 1967 Dodge D100 of D200 trucks (rear wheel drive) in particular, slant six with stick preferred.
