Vehicle Description
VERY RARE CAR ! 1962 Ford Galaxie 500 "G" Code 2 door Hardtop. Factory 406 V8 (405 HP) Hi-Po, Tri Powered (3-2 Barrels), Factory 4 speed, "G" Code Ford Factory Drag Car. The 1962 Ford Galaxie Registry says there are only 105 known to still exist (now there are 106 as I registered this one 8-30-22). The original Borg-Warner transmission was replaced with a Ford TopLoader Transmission. Still has the original factory 4 speed shifter with reverse lockout. 98,700 miles are believed to be the original miles (no proof). The 406 V8 Engine was rebuilt in 2003 by famous Ford engine builder Ted Eaton (and I have letter with original spec sheets from him to authenticate). and has been driven very little since then. I also have a notebook with receipts totaling $6129.35 spent in 2021-2022 for parts, etc. There is also a brand new rebuild kit for the transmission (doesn't need it at this time but ordered it anyway). Car has glass packs but also have two brand new Turbo Mufflers in the trunk, along with new door seals plates and several other new parts in boxes. The car is in good condition overall, and has nice interior, clean under the hood. Paint is good but really needs a good buffing. Car spent half of its life in Kansas. Alot of effort has been given on cleaning and bringing it "back to life" as it is such a very rare car. The car runs good but needs a front end alignment and possibly some front end work. It came from the Ford Factory with NO Power Steering or Power Brakes (power accessories were left off from factory to keep from robbing the engine from power). There are rust spots underneath (none on the Exterior Body Panels). Bumpers have some rust. Car still needs some restoration but as pictures show overall the car still looks good. The Serial Number has been decoded, The metal Data Plate has been decoded and all verified with the National 1962 Ford Galaxy Registry. Everything is correct from the 406 engine, down to the red interior and red color of the car. I have all of the documentation in hand along with the Engine Build Sheet with all specifications from Ted Eaton of Eaton Balancing from Lorena, Texas. I am certainly No Expert on cars but have done alot of research on this car and been in touch with the National 1962 Ford Galaxy Registry Association. I have owned Chevrolet, Buick, Oldsmobile, Pontiac, Ford, Mercury, Oldsmobile, Chrysler, Plymouth, Dodge, Studebaker, Nash, Packard, Cadillac and other Antique and Classic Cars, Hotrods, Ratrods and Restomods in my 64 years, and had some nice Mopars, but I believe this is the most rare car I have ever owned. Clear Texas Title in hand. Reduced to 25000 cash. NO TEXTS.LANDLINE.936-853-4-4-one-one.
