Vehicle Description
1964 Buick Skylark Sport Coupe– Like a Chevelle with class!
In 1964, the Buick Skylark Sport Coupe was the best looking of all the GM A-bodies. This car is similar to the one I had in 1964.
Buick Skylark – Like a Chevelle with class! Perfect for someone that wants to be a little different and stand out from the crowd. You don’t see many of them - This car is rare.
Older paint and resto but still grabs attention and looks sharp. The Magnum 500 wheels and red line tires really look good on this car. The exhaust note from the GTO style exhaust splitters is pleasingly just right – not too loud that it takes away from the pleasure of cruising. The engine runs strong with good oil pressure and runs at 185 -195 degrees in the 95 degree plus Florida heat. I even made a CD of 1964 tunes to play on the aftermarket radio while driving. It is a fun ride.
FEATURES:
• WILDCAT 310 V8: Strong running 300 cu. in. V8 with factory aluminum heads, 9:1 compression and two barrel carburetor. Engine has plenty of power, runs very nice and quiet with excellent oil pressure and does not burn oil. Engine specs: 210 horsepower, 310 foot pounds of torque (Buicks were known for their high torque engines)
• Super Turbine 300 automatic transmission. Although a two speed automatic similar to a Powerglide, the aluminum case ST 300 has a “switch pitch” torque converter which gives it outstanding off the line performance (switch pitch converters are used a lot in drag racing)
• Larger 1-1/4” front sway bar
• Bucket seats, an option in the Sport Coupe
• Custom center console with gauges, arm rest and cup holders (unheard of in 1964)
• Tilt steering column, a rare option in 1964 (professionally re-built)
• Power steering
• Power drum brakes (car stops nice and straight)
• Buick “Magnum 500” style wheels (optional in ’64 & ’65)
• Twin Red Line radial tires
• Aftermarket air conditioning
• Heavy duty front and rear sway bars
• Odometer shows approximately 17,500 miles as of this writing which means the car has 117,500 miles on it

MY ORIGINAL CAR circa 1964:
This car is similar to the one I had back in 1964. Except this one has the Super Turbine 300 automatic transmission, V8 with 2-barrel carb and standard rear axle. (My original had the Borg-Warner T-10 4-speed, 250 HP engine with 4-barrel carburetor / 11:1 compression and posi-traction rear axle with 3.90:1 gears) My original also did not have the optional white top.
The DOWN SIDE
Paint is excellent except for one area aft of the right rear wheel arch. If it was to be repaired, I have one quart of the paint used when the car was repainted. I also have the same paint in three spray cans that cost me $30 EACH ! SEE LAST PICTURE
The interior is very nice but is showing its age. I don’t know if it is the original interior
The re-chromed front bumper needs to be “tweaked” to better follow the body contours. Extra re chromed front bumper may fit better than this one
Under hood detailing not completed but still presents well.
Offered at $17,599
Financing Available through COLLECTOR CAR LENDING
