Vehicle Description
1964 Chevrolet Impala
Georgia car
One family owned since new.
327 V8 4bbl car with air conditioning
Powerglide automatic transmission
97,4XX original miles
Running & driving. Lights, horn, wipers, cigarette lighter, and radio work.
I HAVE THE HUBCAPS, just did not think to install before I grabbed some pictures.
HISTORY:
My great uncle purchased new in Atlanta and he drove it until 1992 when it was parked at his house Locust Grove, GA. In 2002, my brother got the car from our uncle and he stored it in my mother's garage in Fayetteville, GA for 15 years. Then it was stored in his garage in Rincon, GA for the next 2 years. I purchased it from my brother in December and brought it up here where it has been stored in my heated garage.
SINCE I HAVE OWNED THE CAR:
Replaced broken hood hinge
Installed rebuilt original carburetor (Rebuilt by Holley factory)
Changed engine oil & filter
Replaced spark plugs
Pre-oiled engine before starting, new valve cover gaskets (installed driver side)
New distributor gasket
Replaced rubber fuel hoses & cleaned out fuel line
Installed new fuel tank (made in Canada, not cheap Chinese tank)
Installed new fuel sending unit
New brake master cylinder
New rear brake shoes, wheel cylinders, hardware, & hose
New front brake wheel cylinders, hardware, & hoses
Cleaned and repacked front wheel bearings, replaced seals
New battery
Replaced transmission filter & fluid, installed magnet in pan
Drained & filled radiator (surprisingly green & clean old fluid)
New radiator cap & upper radiator hose
New rear tires
New passenger side muffler and exhaust pipe
RUST:
The car is very clean for it's age. The front fenders and hood have some rust (common, even in Southern cars).
In the trunk, there is a dime size hole.
PAINT:
It has the patina! If I were going to keep it, I was going to paint with a flat clear coat to preserve the look. Obviously, the other options would be to paint it or to drive as is.
EXHAUST
Factory dual exhaust.
TIRES / WHEELS
Original wheels and hubcaps. The rear tires are new. The original jack and tire iron are in the trunk.
CAN YOU DRIVE IT HOME?
I do not see a reason why you could not. I have been driving it around, although it is still proudly wearing the 1992 Georgia license plate. Delivery is an option.
TITLE / PLATE / REGISTRATION
I went to the Secretary of State's office to apply for the title and to pick up a plate. The plates are in my hand and the title will follow soon. Clean, clear Illinois title in my name. I have the original bill of sale from August 1964, as well as the owners manual and some old receipts.
TRADES that I might consider:
Asphalt work
Concrete work
Train caboose
This car turns heads everywhere. The whole neighborhood has been watching and waiting to see it on the road again. You can drive it as it is, make it your driving restoration project, or fully restore. In any case, I do not think you will find a better starting place for your '64 Impala passion, at least not in this price range, in this area, with this little rust.
I have a lift at my house, so I will be happy to put the car up for your inspection.
When looking at the trunk, I found 1 dime size rust hole. See picture where I am pointing.
I do not have time for scams.
Please let me know what questions you might have.
If you confess with your mouth "Jesus is Lord" and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, then you will be saved. Romans 10:9
