Vehicle Description
This is a nice firetruck that I bought to restore, with hopes of turning it into a flatbed car hauler.. Unfortunately, I am unable find the time for this excellent project.
I bought this from an out of state fire house about 8 years ago. Drove it to LA where is was stored for about 2 years. Then we drove it to its present location where its been parked ever since. It has a Detroit Diesel with an automatic transmission.. We used to start it up periodically, but the batteries are not able to hold a charge anymore. It was last started about 1 year ago.
I was never able to figure out how to make it pump water, but the tank and all equipment is still there. I was told the tank and pump worked when I bought it. I was also given a brass fire pole from the station house when I bought it. It will go with the truck.
There is only 27k miles on the odo. It needs a paint job and a good clean and polish of its switch gear and gauges.
This was sold because FEMA was upgrading the equipment in rural fire stations. It was a working unit capable of putting out fires and saving lives. The only thing that was done was they had to remove the blue and red flashing lights and the siren.
Bring a big trailer or, if you are handy, put a fix on it and drive her home!
Open to cash offers. Please take a look.
If you are interested in seeing this truck, you are welcome to drive by and check it out. It is parked in front of my business at this address:
924 S. Primrose Ave
Monrovia
Thanks!
