1966 Land Rover Series IIA 109 Station Wagon. Imported from Tenerife, Spain. Solihull-built, left-hand drive Station Wagon. We removed the original 2.25L Diesel and replaced it with the 2.5L NA from an ’86 Defender. New heater, seatbelts, and stereo. Truck is clad in Marine Blue under an off-white roof with matching wheels. New interior with reproduction (faux) elephant hyde vinyl on all three rows of seats and doors. The truck is a equipped with a new OEM leaf spring suspension and a set of five Wolf style wheels color-matched to the roof. The tires are Falken Wildpeak A/T LT235/85R16. Many custom touches: New front and rear light indicators, headlights, windshield wipers, wiper motor, front galvanized steel bumper, headliner, seats, seatbelts, folding Defender-spec sidesteps for all five doors, door handles, door cards, swing-away spare tire carrier and a completely rebuilt dashboard. The dash includes a 6,000 rpm VDO tachometer and voltimer. We also installed a two-speed heater for the cab that has vents located under the driver, front passenger and rear seating area of the truck. The engine is from a 1986 Land Rover Defender 90 and has approximately 100,000 miles (60k KM) on it. It is mated to a 4-speed manual transmission with new clutch. We substituted the middle front seat for an Exmoor center console with a Bluetooth stereo and a 500W, 12V inverter with two 12V plugs and 2 USB ports easily accessible from the back seat. This inverter can be toggled on and off with a switch next to the driver’s seat. There are four speakers: two on the center console and two on the rear end of the headliner. The middle row of seats is a single bench and the rear of the truck features two foldable, side-facing benches. It can seat 5-7 comfortably and 9 if the party wants to get cozy. The rear, side-facing seats do not have seatbelts. We applied sound insulation under the hood, seat box and in the engine compartment. The truck is unrestored and the paint has issues (patina!) commensurate with age.
