Vehicle Description
Originally delivered to Griffith Motors of Denver, Colorado on 10/15/65, it still looks virtually showroom fresh with 1 repaint since new. The daughter bought it from her father who purchased it from the original owner of 45 years. It lived in Colorado and Arizona before being garage kept in Indiana and has been stored during the winters. It has been very well loved and is looking for a true MOPAR fan to take care of it next. Comes with the original Fury II brochure, operating instructions manual and a clean and clear title in the Indiana Owner’s name.
It has had 1 repaint since new in the original Beige color which perfectly suits the understated and elegant body lines. Straight as an arrow down the sides and 100 percent complete with chrome bumpers, trim and grill in very good condition. Sleek, long, low and wide, the styling is handsome and is striking in its simplicity and economy of line. Nothing else will ever look like it again and as time rolls on more and more people are recognizing what works of art these early Furys are. It’s a time capsule cruiser from back in the day. Family road trip!
The interior is particularly amazing in its originality. You won’t find fabric like this today for a restoration. The Beige Vinyl with Gold patterned cloth inserts is still in fantastic condition. It is clear this car was always well loved and cared for. It has been lightly driven over the years and shows very little wear. The dash has no cracks, there are no rips in the upholstery or headliner and the original AM radio and cigarette lighter still works. All switches and gauges are in fine working order. The interior is very spacious and is the perfect cruiser for family and friends.
The engine is Chrysler’s legendary and bulletproof 230 hp 5.2 Liter 318 cubic inch V8 and with only 87.441 original meticulously maintained miles, there are many more miles to go before it will need anything more than regular service and occasional tune-ups. It is mated to a smooth shifting automatic transmission that is dependable and reliable. Plenty of power to move 3,500 lbs, not a heavy car compared to even today’s muscle cars. The brakes have recently been improved, converted from a single system to a dual with a new master cylinder.
This car is being auctioned on a new classic car auction site. We provide a professional photos and a walk around video - See the auction here -
