Vehicle Description
Looking to pass along my 1967 Camaro. The car has had a ton of time and funds invested over the last few years of my ownership to make it a reliable daily driver. The car is not an original SS or RS, but has been a California car its' entire life, with only minor hints of surface rust on the underside. Originally a six cylinder in light blue with only a center-console option selected, built in Van Nuys, CA. Mileage reporting has fallen off multiple times due to broken and replaced clusters, and I believe it to have between 125-150,000 miles total based on estimates.
Exterior is a 7.5/10. (2-3 areas of light bubbling, 3-4 small chips/flaws in the paint).
Interior is a 7/10. (All seats and door card vinyls are in good shape, but painted surfaces and seat belts show signs of wear)
The engine is a recently rebuilt 350 (non-original) with Trick Flow camel hump heads, headers, Pertronix ignition, Holley 4 barrel carb, roller rocker arms, comp cam, fuel hardlines, a GM intake manifold, high-torque mini starter, and runs reliably. The engine is painted Chevy red but the heads are aluminum. The engine turns over easily on a single pump and starts reliably. 75 psi of oil on a cold start, 20psi idle when hot. A long water pump and matching accessories keeps the coolant moving through the aluminum Griffin radiator and shroud, with heavy-duty upgraded SPAL fans.
The transmission is a Muncie four speed unit with a Holley Competition Plus/4 shifter. The transmission was recently rebuilt by Performance Fabrication in San Carlos, and has been serviced regularly with high-quality oil since. It shifts perfectly, and easily engages all gears. The reverse light switch has not been carried over when this shifter was added. Tunnel was previously notched for a v-gate or super shifter.
The driveline has been recently rebuilt and balanced by South Bay Driveline.
The rear axle is a 3.08 posi GM 10-bolt (8.2). This was rebuilt about 16 months ago at Rearend Specialties.
Wheels are 15x7 and 15x8.5 Centerline Autodrags. Tires have less than 3,000 miles on them. (195 and 275 / 55 / 15 BF Goodrich Radial T/As).
Front and rear Hotchkiss 2(F) and 2.5(R) lowering springs. Traction bars have been removed but can be included.
Brakes are discs in front, drums in rear.
Steering is power assisted with a brand-new Borgeson 800 series box installed under 2,000 miles ago.
I've spent a ton of time driving and improving this vehicle. It regularly makes the ~500 mile roundtrip to and from Tahoe without issue. I've personally added about 20,000 miles to the car over the last few years. I have about $17,000 in part and labor receipts alone, and will be selling at a significant loss.
Please keep in mind, this is a 55 year old vehicle and all classics tend to be an on-going project. The buyer should expect to be mechanically involved with the vehicle to keep it running and driving reliably. The car is sold as-is, and my expectation is that you can competently inspect the car prior to purchase.
