Vehicle Description
Selling my 1970 AMX. Car is an original X code Go-Pack car (390 / 4spd) first delivered in Omaha, NB. I have the original window sticker listing the options which included the Commodore blue metallic with shadow mask paint scheme. Manual close ratio steering, AM radio, center arm rest, tinted glass, sport steering wheel and of course the 390 Ram Air with Go Pack options. Shows about 62,000 miles that I believe are original. Underside of the car is spotless - zero rust anywhere.
Other than some tweaks I bought the car as it sits so my information is not first hand but I do have a lot of paperwork detailing what all was done to it. The suspension was done by WSC racing in Atlanta using their front coil over / rear springs and shock system. Sits an inch or so lower than stock and is pretty firm. The motor is a 1971 401ci that was built by Andy Giles of the Atlanta area. It has the 291C heads that were supposedly ported and polished (9.3:1 compression), a stout 0.544” lift hydraulic cam, 0.030” over bore and fully balanced rotating assembly, dynoed at 440hp / 455ftlbs . I have all the details on the engine build / components used. Full MSD ignition system. Transmission is a close ratio T10 with new Centerforce dual friction clutch kit and a 3.73 rear end.
I have a ton of pictures if you are really interested, that I can send to a valid email address. I am asking $35k for the car. Open to some trade possibilities, mostly of the Mopar persuasion. Car is in Western NC.
