You will have to look long & hard to find one with this option list and even longer to find one with the original rust free floors, quarters & doors. There are Boss specific components missing from this one, however thanks to the electronic age we live in, its easier than ever to find them. You can find lesser optioned or extensively patched Boss's with relative ease. This is one of the few examples that would support a restoration effort without a blood bath of red ink at the end.

This Boss was in the possession of the previous owner from 1972 until 2021 down in Sunny California. It recently came available after his passing. The story would have it that he had bought the car after the shaker and original rear window slats were stolen. Since that time it has seen street duty as a daily driver, weekend warrior and a long time garage refugee. Luckily it has survived without any major body damage or rust. This is a surprisingly rust free example.

From what we can tell this Boss wears all of its original sheet metal with the exception of the hood as it was stolen with the Shaker assembly. Much of the paint is original though there seems to have been some areas repainted though there are no signs of accident damage on the interior sides of the sheet metal. The top was painted black due to the original paint being sun burnt and exposing the sheet metal. The panels all line up nicely indicating this will be a relatively straight forward repaint saving someone a lot of $.

Inside, the deluxe interior is quite complete and the rare options are present and accounted for. Oddly the tachometer option wasn't standard on the Boss's and was really hit & miss. To add a tach is extremely expensive as the tach harness is different than a non-tach main harness. This one has a functional 8k RPM tachometer. The Boss's also didn't come standard with the rally clock as this one does. Also present are the 'Sport Deck' rear seat and deluxe door panels. The front seats have been re-covered and look great. The interior is easily nice enough to leave as-is for now if you wanted to do a driven restoration.

Under the hood live a 351 Cleveland 4 Barrel engine that has been fitted with a solid lifter camshaft and the Boss 302 valve covers. It runs excellent and sounds correct with that faint solid lifter rhythmic sound that the Boss's were known for. The toploader is a RUG AW with the correct Hurst Competition Plus shifter & shift knob. Out back lives a 3.50 ratio 9" that is not the original 'N' unit that came with the car.

Underneath the floors were undercoated when new. It is still quite thick and shows no swelling or signs of rust through the frame & floor access holes. Take a look at the undercarriage pics, this is a good car.
