Vehicle Description
1971 Pontiac GTO. California Car.
Only REAL factory GTO’S were made
With the 242 VIN #. This is one of them!
(Others are a lemans)
400 Engine. Auto Transmission. front bucket seats with floor shifter. Original Red exterior with black interior.
I started the restoration on this GTO but due to covid lock downs. I put it in storage for about 2 years until recently when I continued with the restoration.
Here is a list of everything done:
The 400 Engine, Carbuerator and factory AC were all professionally rebuilt.
New: Tires, brakes, radiator, battery, belts, hoses, plugs, wires tune up and all the parts required for the rebuild. Dual Exhaust system, locks, Windshield.
New Interior 2 weeks ago include headliner, carpet, front & rear seat covers, door panels, rear deck cover. all done to original specs. Another dashboard will come with the purchase. this dash has just been recovered so it looks new. It just needs to be installed.
The overall condition is very good. It had a repaint many years ago. The Previous owner had it in storage for 20 years. That paint chipped off and now shows the original red patina with primer from the old paint job. It needs a little body work and paint. It drives great & shifts smooth and feels very solid when driving it. With lots of power. The floors and trunk are in excellent condition and are original. The wheels are 1971 GM 15 inch Rally wheels wrapped in cooper cobra tires.
