Vehicle Description
I have for sale a 1971 TR6 Project.
*THIS CAR IS LOCATED IN OMAHA, NEBRASKA* (Can be brought to Dallas on any weekend to be shown as I have family in the area).
In its current state, the car DOES run and drive. The 2.5L motor has been freshly rebuilt this year by a local TR6 master mechanic in Omaha, NE. I have all of the shop records on what has gone into the car, it was over $6,000 in work.
The overall condition of the paint is rough, but the body is very straight. The paint and body panels are going to need to be stripped and repainted, however almost all body panels except the trunk are free and clear of any rust besides surface rust. The chrome bumpers will also need reconditioning from rust as well.
The reason for the surface rust appears to have occurred from water dripping onto the car while it was in a previous storage situation. All major body panels, including the floor pans, are RUST FREE. This car would make and excellent restoration candidate and would require very little if any patchwork.
The car comes with the original factory hardtop and roll bar as well. The interior is also in need of some love, the seats need recovering and the wiring under the dash is in need of some organization. However, all gauges function and the dash itself is in good condition.
The car is currently located in Omaha, NE, however I am posting this ad in Dallas craigslist as I have family in the area and can trailer the car down on a weekend at any time. There simply is not a large enough market here for a car like this, hence the reason for posting.
These cars are sure to appreciate as time goes on, and the 1971 model year is one of the most desirable. Cleaned-up examples with similar miles are going for nearly $20K on Bring A Trailer and other sites. This car is a very solid foundation for a restoration project.
Please contact with me any questions, but do not waste my time with scams or lowball offers. This car is priced to sell at $4500 obo. No, I will not part it out, and no I will not trade. I am happy to provide more pictures or a video of the car running at the buyer's request.
