Very rare and special example of one of the most legendary and collectible Lancia models. This sporty coupe in exceptional original condition with low miles was discovered in an Italian collection by our team and treated to a comprehensive mechanical rebuild and professional body refinish in the original Italian racing red.
Restoration included Monte Carlo replica touches including black painted hood, front bumper removal, new driving lamps and Monte Carlo badging.
Featuring the most powerful version of the well engineered 1584cc V4 engine, 5-speed manual transmission and unique Monte Carlo edition trim and finish. The exterior is distinguished with a flat black hood, flared fenders, Carello Fog Lamps, cast alloy wheels and Monte Carlo badge. With bumpers removed and various other weight saving measures, it is quite similar to the racing Rally versions which won the FIA International Championship for Manufacturers in 1972.
The exceptionally clean interior is equipped with racing inspired bucket seats with integral headrests and new 4-point safety belts. The stunning and well instrumented dash is accented with an attractively refinished wood panel surround and sports a classic woodrim steering wheel with a prominent Lancia badge.
The respray included the entire front section and was preceded by a detailed remedy of all minor flaws and any surface corrosion. The body is straight, sound and has never been subject to any structural rust or collision damage. All chrome, trim, badges and seals are in excellent shape. The original interior is in near perfect condition reflecting the low mileage and careful care since new.
Mechanically every aspect has been inspected and reconditioned as necessary. Given the low mileage, the engine was tested and proven sound with excellent compression and oil pressure. New seals, hoses and clamps were fitted. The dual SOLEX carburettors have been rebuilt. The valve cover has been powder coated in the original yellow finish and the cams realigned. The radiator has been reconditioned. A new exhaust system has been installed. The 5-speed transmission was removed, inspected and bench tested. New engine and transmission mounts were fitted, driveshafts inspected, and all suspension components, bushings and links renewed where required. Brake system has been rebuilt. Electrical system inspected and updated. Driving experience is smooth, tight and nimble with a very new feeling to all aspects.
This racy and daring coupe presents beautifully and delivers the exceptional driving experience of Lancia’s rally proven sports coupe. Very original, outstanding condition inside, outside and under the hood, a very fine example of the type.
The car comes with a valid California registration and title. It also comes with its original Italian plates and paperwork.

MODEL HISTORY : 1972 Lancia Fulvia HF1600 Monte Carlo Replica
The Fulvia series premiered in 1963 with the introduction of the Fulvia Berlina 4-door sedan. The production versions of the Fulvia - named for Via Fulvia, the Roman road leading from Tortona to Turin - included the 2+2 Coupe, a Zagato designed fastback GT and a 4-door Berlina. Lancia marketing included offering many trim and engine variations to suit Italy’s licensing and tax regulations and the popular taste. The Fulvia Coupe was a compact two-door, three-box coupé introduced in 1965, designed in-house by Piero Castagnero.
Lancia promoted the new Fulvia by returning to rally competition with suitably modified versions. In 1965 the Fulvia Coupe made its racing debut at the Tour de Corse, placing 8th overall. Starting with the lightened and more powerful 1965 Rallye HF, special HF versions were added to the lineup offered to the general public to homologate improvements for the rally cars.
Tested in 1967, Road & Track reviewed the Lancia Coupe as ”a precision motorcar, an engineering tour de force". Proven in competition and noted for a superb driving experience, the Fulvia Coupe is very well regarded by contemporary enthusiasts and a sought after collectable in today’s market.
