Vehicle Description
Selling a rare 1972 Monte Carlo project with original VIN-stamped code CRW 454 bare block. Only 1268 454 Monte Carlos were produced in 1972. The 5th digit in the VIN of this car is a W, which denotes the 454 as the engine size. The car also has the original build sheet to further document its authenticity. Note that the SS454 package was not available on the Monte Carlo in 1972, but the 454 engine could still be ordered. Original color on this car was a very rare code 14 Pewter Silver with Pewter interior, which looks amazing on a restored car.
The car is in need of a full restoration. It will need drivers quarter repair or replacement as it was repaired in the past. Color variation on passenger quarter makes it look bad but its actually straight and does not appear to need replacement. Doors and front clip are very straight and solid with the exception of the typical lower rust on the bottoms of the front fenders. This is a lifelong Oregon car that was sold new at Lyman Slack Chevrolet in Portland according to the build sheet. Both the Turbo 400 trans and 12 bolt rear are missing. Has a 10 bolt in it now. The interior in the car is mostly complete except the upper back seat is missing. The car has been stored indoors for the past 10 years that I’ve owned it. Currently stored in Oregon and shown by appointment only to serious buyers. More photos available upon request. Clear Oregon title. No trades. $9500
