Vehicle Description
The Z world is on fire. A recent auction saw an original 21,000 mile 1970 240Z sell for an astonishing $310,000. Not a misprint, $310 grand !
Let me save you a quarter of a million...
This 1973 240z has had but one owner since 1980... most of you weren't born yet :) The car was produced in June of 1973. All receipts including the bill of sale have been saved. The car received a complete restoration a few years back and has been loving cared for ever since. The engine was rebuilt and balanced, a Datsun competition cam was installed with the correct up-graded valve springs, retainers and rocker arms. Exhaust, Jim Cook Racing headers connected to Monza exhaust tips and custom 2-1/2" stainless steel system with O2 sensor going to the data acquisition system for AFR recording.
The original 4 speed was replaced with a 280ZX five speed, new clutch, pressure plate and throw out bearing.
The original ignition was upgraded with an MSD box, MSD coil, MSD tachometer converter and Pertronix electronic pickup in the stock re-curved distributor. An Innovate Motorsports SSI data acquisition system includes motor speed, Air/Fuel ratio and throttle position indication (not connected to the stock linkage). Additional inputs are available for more data acquisition. The cars induction system was replaced by 1972 carburetors, they function far better than the quirky '73 carbs.
Suspension up-grades include; quickor front and rear sway bars and KYB Excel-G gas cartridges.
During the cars restoration, every nut and bolt was touched, every wire and connector either restored or replaced.
Typical rust in the cars floor was removed and carefully replaced while the car was secured on a jig, insuring that all factory measurements were adhered to.
The cars colors are original, the Blue with White combination is extremely rare. Paint work and interior are simply excellent, here the photos do not lie. Most of the interior is original to the car, even the dash is original but, has had some repairs, better than those nasty fake covers though. Door cars are original and in good condition, seat covers are replacement OEM.
It is rare that a 240Z of this quality becomes available, particularly after 40 years of ownership! The car is shown by appointment. The title is clean and clear. Inspections are welcomed, gladly. Airport pick-up is available and only minutes away.
Please note: Sale price does not include sales tax, registration fees or $150,00 negotiable documentation fee for Washington residents.
