1973 DeTomaso Pantera
The odometer indicates 21k miles, about 100 of which were added by myself during the 18 months of ownership
My Father acquired the Pantera from the original owner in 2014 and completed the restoration in 2015 just before taking it to Monterey Italiano. Shortly after that my Father took ill and the Pantera was placed in storage. I inherited it In 2018 ,So took it out of storage and serviced it at Tommy Hodges of Extreme Pantera in Buena Park, California. Work consisted of an inspection, tune-up, and replacement of the headlight relay.. with any other little issues it had So it’s ready with all its 450 HP. Comes with records and a clean California title in my name
This Pantera is powered by a 351 Cleveland, which has been rebuilt with aluminum cylinder heads, a COMP Cams camshaft, chrome Edelbrock intake manifold, Quick Fuel carburetor, Holley sidedraft air cleaner, chrome valve covers, electronic ignition, and an oversized Brass radiator which flows great and has NO heating issues at all , the interior has also been redone,
Transmission ; ZF five-speed manual transaxle that has been powder coated and mounted with Allen head bolts. A new dual-friction clutch and flywheel were installed in 2014. Chrome half shafts and a chrome rear sway bar with aluminum mounts all feature DeTomaso logos.
Included Original California blue plates and spare windshield wipers. The car attended the Concourso Italiano in Monterey, California in 2015, as well as the Pantera Palooza in Irvine, California in 2016. Rust: I have looked from top to bottom and see NO signs of rust anywhere.
Wheels: Just to be clear it is being sold with the OG 7″ and 8″ x 15 Campy wheels. Magnisium. Tires on rear have about 600 mile only
A/C : R 134 and works fine.
Engine bay: As you can see there is a lot of extras, everyone should know how much it cost to chrome / powder coat & smooth panels. Any OG Pantera is going to have large spot weld marks as well as beat marks, and that's the way they came from the factory.
The Cleveland V8 was reportedly rebuilt and bored .030 during the refurbishment. The engine compartment was refinished, and the firewall and fuel tank shield were polished. Additional work included the installation of the following items:
Aluminum Edelbrock heads
COMP Cams camshaft
Edelbrock AIR-gap high-rise intake manifold
Quick Fuel carburetor
Holley sidedraft air cleaner
Chrome DeTomaso valve covers
Powder coated headers with large GTS mufflers
