Vehicle Description
1973 Ford Mustang
Wonderful project car. Perhaps a father and son team?
This car ran fantastic several years ago, until a brief under the hood fire (right in front of a Fire Station!) put it back in our garage. Please see the BEFORE and CURRENT pics.
331 stroker. Short block built by CHP (Coast High Performance) in SoCal Way more than enuf HP to push this pony around.
Have over $29,000 into it. New gas tank, fuel lines, brakes, rotors, interior, suspension, obviously the engine was new (less than 5,950 miles on it) Edelbrock Performer heads & kit, new stereo, amp, subwoofer, Dynamatted, etc, etc, etc. Located in So Calif, 91361. Rust free.
We were planning on cleaning it up and getting her running it again, but the old story – life got in the way. My son now lives up north, and I don’t have the inclination to get her running again, alone. We did the hard part. What it needs now is some clean up, a few under the hood parts and some re-wiring.
C4 tranny mated professionally to the perfect torque converter for this stroker eng. Would chirp the tires off the line whenever you wanted.
Needs under the hood-up to the gauges wiring (best bet might be a generic kit from Painless), carb, windshield, battery, pick your own new gauges, hoses, likely several other under hood parts. We never got around to repainting so it’s in the sweet spot for you to put your fingerprints all over. Not much body work required. Make it yours! Hood is off right now -but of course, included - as you’ll likely want to pull the eng, paint it, maybe re-blue the headers, etc…
Great choice for a tall person. The ’73 was the end of the muscle car era for Mustang. These are the largest Mustangs ever.
We've owned the car for a decade and so have a clean title (pink slip). Once you have it back in shape, the DMV will issue you your title with "salvage" populated in a field. (Our insurance co wouldn’t reimburse for anywhere near what we have into it, and saw it as merely a car from the 1970’s. So in their mind it was "written off".) Here's a link with some information on the subject
Have to see to appreciate. Not turnkey! This should be a fun project. It was for us. We’ll miss her.
You’ll, obviously, need to arrange for a flatbed tow to come and get her. Located on TO/WLV border, down Westlake Blvd a couple miles.
Only serious buyers need reply. Please do not waste your time or mine if a project isn’t what you’re looking for. Check the comps out there. She is priced to move. (No need to ask if we still have the car. I'll pull down everywhere it's advertised, including this Craigslist post, the day the new lucky buyer takes her home.)
