Vehicle Description
Rare 1973 Jeep Commando for sale with the bull nose front end only made in 72 and 73 to compete with the Bronco and Scout. This one is a factory 3 speed automatic with the larger 258 Straight-6 engine. I purchased the truck from a dealer in Orlando that specializes in Jeeps earlier this year and have since had some improvements made by a local restoration shop.
The Jeep is what I would call a good driver quality. The paint is not glossy and has numerous imperfections, but the body is rust and dent free and mechanically it runs great. The dealer I bought it from had already stripped it, removed rust, sprayed bedliner in the interior, and repainted it. They also installed a new interior, roll cage, seatbelts, LED lights and indicators, FiTech electronic fuel injection system, new 32" BFG A/T tires and more. When I bought the truck I had a restoration shop in town convert the front brakes to disk, redo the front suspension with one made specifically for Commandos from Justjeepsters.com, replace all fuel lines, replace fuel tank, replace fuel pump, change all fluids, replace rear drum brakes, and a few other safety items. Now the truck starts right up, runs really well, and handles and brakes much better. It's still a 46 year old truck with a lift and 32" tires, so it doesn't drive like a new car, but for what it is it's great as an around town fun truck.
The idea behind me buying the truck was to use it as a third car to take the kids to sports, the beach, and running around town. It turns out that my son has gotten really into BMX racing and we need to get something that is better for long distance driving to take to his races, so I'm reluctantly selling it. I'm in no hurry to sell, so no lowball offers please. I have over $26K invested in the truck in the short time I've had it with all of the upgrades and improvements. The truck is in Lakewood Ranch if you're serious and want to come look at it.
Price is $24,500. Cashiers check only. Email if interested.
