Vehicle Description
This is a 1973 Triumph TR6 in French Blue with 92000 miles, and equipped with the Moss supercharger kit (w/Holley carb). This was the car, and color, that I fell in love with as a kid. I've owned it since 2012, and I'm ready to move onto something bigger that has A/C. TR6's are an affordable entry into British cars, with active local and national clubs, as well as good parts availability. Mine is a great 10-footer, and a blast to drive on country roads - particularly when the supercharger is giving boost!
Originally sold out of Birmingham, AL (I have the original "Passport to Service" booklet), this originally had A/C. A few minor bits remain, but all the mechanicals are gone. I have a stack of receipts dating back to 1996.
Previous owners did the following:
- Repainted in the original color
- Yokohama tires
- Moss stainless steel exhaust system
- Moto-Lite wood steering wheel
- Moss supercharger
I have a box of original parts, including the original carburetor setup, radio, luggage rack and steering wheel
During my ownership, I have done the following items:
- Rebuilt transmission
- Replaced clutch pressure plate (Sachs)
- Repaired the clutch fork
- Replaced the rear main engine seal
- Rebuilt the rear wheel hubs
- Repaired/reinforced the front diffy mounts
- Rebuilt the rear level shocks (World Wide Auto Parts)
- Replaced all u-joints
- Replaced the brake master cylinder & booster
The convertible top [that I rarely use] is past its prime - I use the tonneau cover exclusively
The upholstery is still decent, but the seat foam/diaphragm could use replacing
The chrome has patina. I will include various new 'chrome bits', which I've not had time to install
