Vehicle Description
I am selling my 1974 CJ-5 Renegade that is completely torn down and ready to start building. I have spent the last year disassembling all parts, cleaning, sand blasting, and prepping it to assemble.
Here's the "why are you selling it?" answer. I just purchased a 2006 C55 AMG Mercedes. I have a 2 car garage and need the space to park the C55. It really is that simple.
Here's an idea of its status. PLEASE READ CAREFULLY SO YOU UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU ARE GETTING INTO WITH THIS PROJECT:
-Original 304 motor was completely rebuilt with a .10 overbore on the block. The engine work was done locally by HBR Performance and included new pistons, camshaft, bearings, etc. Heads were rebuilt as well. Engine is fully assembled and ready to install
-Transmission is the original 3 speed. Gearbox was rebuilt locally by Desert Transmission and is ready to install
-Both front and rear axles have been taken apart, new rebuild kits purchased and housings blasted. Front axle is ready for paint, rear axle is painted and ready to assemble.
-Frame has been sandblasted down to bare metal, primed and painted. There are 2 small cracks that need to be welded prior to starting to assemble the rolling chassis.
- A new dual exhaust system with Flowmaster 40 mufflers. 2-1/2" pipes exit behind rear wheels.
- All major body parts have been sandblasted and are ready to start prep for paint. I have 2 tubs. the original Renegade one that has the original vin plate AND a second tub that has a tailgate opening. Either one will work for th ebuild- BOTH of them are stripped to bare metal
- I have a TON of brand new parts. Mostly for suspension, and rolling chassis build. Everything I purchased was STOCK. The intention was to restore the Jeep to original spec.
-Other parts include.
Full Clutch kit
Leaf Springs, shackles, shocks, suspension
Gas tank and sending unit
New Goodyear Wrangler AT tires on brand new 15x7" steel wheels
Original American Racing slotted 15"x7" aluminum wheels (the stock ones)
Carburetor was completely rebuilt just before I tore it all apart.
I have all nuts/bolts in marked bags from the tear down.
There's a lot more. it can be discussed if when you come see it all.
I AM NOT PARTING THIS OUT.EVERYTHING GOES when it is bought (Including all of the Jeep signs on the garage walls)
If you know how to assemble a CJ-5- this is a very good project with most of the difficult legwork already done.
