Vehicle Description
1975 Blazer K5 Custom Deluxe w/Soft Top by 2nd owner (since '86).
This suv is the original and is in excellent running condition with a restored, reinforced body.
Currently running a '75 vintage truck motor [not original], 4-bolt main smallblock 350 w/HEI, Q-jet carb, ‘Ramshorn’ headers; Dual exhausts. Replacement oversized radiator.
Many original options, including diamond-plate running boards, roll bar, heavy-duty rear bumper w/integral hitch, dual battery setup [for guaranteed winter starts], HUBS [to relieve fulltime 4wd].
Interior in decent shape with original upholstery [rear seat moved to side to allow long cargo]. Original floors replaced, driver's & rear floor (by 1/4 in diamond plate). New front fenders with liners. Original orange color on hood and tailgate replaced by Rustoleum black to match fenders.
Original 350TH trans. Mileage about 148k as shown.
Never used for plowing, so frame excellent.
New Goodyear Wrangler all-season tires.
New Brakes.
The vehicle life has been on 2-lane highways and forestry roads, in heavy snow country. No known freeway use. One of the great vehicles for off-road reliability, i.e. getting you into the deep woods AND back out again. Vehicle stored for 12 years, back on the road in 2017. Since 2004, used only in summers.
This is one of the best examples of this model existing, now classic status, per Hagerty, which rated it as the 2nd of the “10 hottest classics of the summer of 2019.” Values have accelerated almost 60% since.
It is currently a daily driver & requires no rebuilding/repair. It would benefit from a modern powerful smallblock upgrade.
