Vehicle Description
This is a classic 1976 Morris Mini 1000 from New Zealand. "Cooper" used in the title because this is the name most people recognize, and also because the New Zealand Mini is essentially the same as a Mini Cooper sold in the United Kingdom, or a Rover Mini sold in Japan.
One of the previous owners removed the hood, fenders, and front bumper to make room for a Honda VTEC engine swap that never occurred. As such, this vintage Mini has a one-piece removable fiberglass nose that covers the entire front of the car.
The headlights and front blinkers work 100% normally. A quick-connect wire harness allows the hood to be disconnected and moved completely out of the way, or it can be left connected to move the hood just to check the oil.
As the photos show, this is a right-hand drive (RHD) car. The 4-speed transmission shift pattern is the same as a traditional left-hand drive (LHD) car. Because shifting is performed with the left hand, the blinker stalk is located on the right of the steering wheel. The accelerator, brake, and clutch pedals are all in the same location as a LHD car.
The Mini starts, drives, and stops normally. Pull out the choke knob, pump the accelerator a few times, and the original 998cc engine (hence the "Mini 1000" name) fires right up. It is driven every weekend, and runs perfectly fine on regular 87 octane gas (ethanol-free recommended).
Please note that the Mini is currently registered as an antique, which means it is not subject to Hamilton County, Tennessee's emissions testing requirements. As such, the Mini has not been through the emissions testing process.
Current "mileage" on the odometer is 29890 kilometers, which will increase each weekend until sold. Speedometer shows both KPH and MPH. A list of recent work, as well as additional info, is below. If a specific item is not listed below that means it has not been changed or modified since I purchased it in April 2018.

Please keep in mind this Mini is 43 years old. At some point it was repainted a brighter shade of yellow. While that paint job was not perfect, the biggest issue being a visible "chip" on the drivers door below the handle, it is certainly eye-catching.
Engine oil used by the previous owner was Amsoil Z-ROD 20w50. I continued this oil, then began using Valvoline VR1 Racing 20w50. Oil filter used is K and N HP-1002. Recommended oil change interval for a vehicle of this age is every 3000 miles or 3 months, whichever occurs first.
Included in the sale is the original owner manual, original service tracking manual, original VIN plate (removed from frame when front end components were removed), original jack, original heater, a spare set of door glass, a spare set of side rear window window glass, spare tire and wheel, one new tire, four spare generic steel wheels, red ball fire extinguisher in engine compartment, trunk-mounted yellow fire extinguisher, all paperwork collected since April 2018, all available parts removed or replaced since April 2018, and all available paperwork obtained from the previous owner. License plates shown in photos are not included in the sale.
The Mini is fun to drive and turns heads everywhere it goes. Clean and clear Tennessee title in my name. $9500 cash or best offer. No trades, and no selling help needed. If this ad is still posted the Mini is still available. Questions? Offers? Email or text them to 423-three-eight-zero-8113. BE SURE to leave me a message so I can know to call you back. Thank you very much for reading.
