Vehicle Description
A long time ago in what seems like a galaxy far, far away, I bought a 1978 Z28. I was curious to try a restomod-ish kind of thing. I then bought a wrecked 2002 Camaro Z28 with only 51k miles on it.
I took the LS1 and 4L60E out of the 02. I stripped a bunch of other stuff out of it and had the wrecked shell hauled away (it was pretty minor damage...car was driveable...it drove on/off the trailer and up/down my driveway, which was not insignificant at the time).
I then ordered a bunch of the Holley LS1 swap stuff...here's the list with somewhat current prices:
17.57 71221004HKR clamshell mount
17.57 71221004HKR clamshell mount
21.15 71221014HKR poly insert
21.15 71221014HKR poly insert
260.95 12614HKR transmission crossmember
143.95 12613HKR engine mount brackets
323.95 8501HKR exhaust manifolds
152.95 70701319-RHKR adapter pipes
856.95 70501385-RHKR header back exhaust
341.95 12-304 EFI fuel tank module
======
2,158.14 in Holley LS1 swap parts; all still brand new with boxes.
Then the engine and tranny came out of the '78. These were not original to the car (nor is the rear end that's still in it...a 3.08 non-posi, I think). Engine and tranny got sold. The car is a solid car. The guy I bought it from had done a cosmetic refresh. The interior is really nice...not original, but redone in basically original style. He did a little bodywork...there was some rust near the rear fenders IIRC. He painted it UT Vols orange. He did all this in a barn/garage...it's by no means concours, but it's pretty well done minus some annoying things like he made very little effort to do a good job painting things like the undersides of bumpers that are not readily seen. The frame seems to be totally solid. The car ran and drove perfectly fine.
So I now have the no-engine/tranny car (with the hood and whole nose removed) in my garage. Next to it is the LS1/4L60E, still mated on jackstands along with the ECU and maybe a few other things I thought would be good to keep (all the accessories are still on the engine). And all the Holley stuff is sitting there too.
I'm tired of it collecting dust. I don't seem to be able to restart the project. I'd like it to disappear.
Offering the whole enchilada for $10k, but also willing to consider selling things separately.
