Vehicle Description
This is the Camper Special Ranger with the Explorer package, 400 V8.
RWD, Automatic.
Selling this truck that helped me during the first couple of years of building a new home and establishing a yard, etc. It's been a great truck (and has had a lot of work done in the last two years-see below) but I just don't need it anymore.
I'm the third owner and it's been well taken care of overall. Starts every time, paint and original striping are in great condition with minimal rust, and it will haul pretty much anything you can fit it due to it being a "Camper Special." Would be a nice restoration project.
Here's a rundown:
Recent work includes:
-replaced head gasket (2022)
-new starter (flywheel was inspected and did not require repair)
-radiator has been replaced and recently serviced
-new thermostat regulator
-fully serviced carburetor
-drained and inspected main fuel tank
-by previous owner: new water pump, 2 freeze plugs, a heater hose fitting, upper and lower radiator hoses, spark plugs, radius arm bushings, headlight switch, fuel lines; replaced wheels (to make it easier to fit modern tires; I have the original rims, too).
-cruise control was non-functional and was not replaced after head gasket repair
-heat runs nice and hot
The odometer stopped at (1)25,000 although the mechanic I've worked with estimated it probably doesn't have a whole lot more miles than that-I just can't verify it.
Happy to answer any questions you may have about it.
