Vehicle Description
This 78 Pontiac Firebird Formula is ready to be restored, but it runs & drives as-is. It has had some recent mechanical work done on it to ensure that it's road-worthy and now it needs some lovin' in the cosmetic department. Made popular in the Smokey and the Bandit series, this car is truly an America icon!
It's got a SBC 350 in it which is mated to a TH350 automatic. I do have a couple Pontiac 400's which are available if someone wants to do an engine/trans swap as well. It's blue outside and has a blue vinyl interior (covered with cloth) with bucket seats and a console. It needs to be restored both inside and out to bring it back to its former glory though. The 'Formula' trim level is a cross between a base model Espirit and a high-end Trans Am. The Formula has a rear 3-piece spoiler, like the T/A, but it doesn't have the funky fender & wheel flares (which some people - like myself - don't prefer anyway). A Formula also has a V-8 in it, whereas the Espirit came standard with an inline 6-cylinder.
Several different engines were available in the late 70's F-Bodies, but this one has a tried and true SBC 350 in it. If someone wants to go with a Pontiac motor, I have a couple of those that can be negotiated into the deal if necessary.
I don't have pics yet, but here are some that are representative of the car I'm selling (minus the condition anyway, because mine is in need of restoration):
Please give me a call at show contact info to schedule a showing.
