The ultimate get in and go show truck. With the programmable Sniper EFI and Edelbrock fuel sump, no more worries about cold starts and idle issues. Head turner and thumbs up, everywhere it goes. Custom, unique, and quite affordable, this 1978 Ford F-100 is the kind of truck you've always dreamed of owning, and available right now.
Ford's new for 1978 face was part of a rare two-year design, and the round headlights are even rarer. So it's something that is always in-demand. The Candy Apple Deep Red Metallic paint is stunning and shows off the great lines of the truck. Custom paint was also applied to places like the grille, headlight surrounds, and bumper. It gives the truck a very modern look, and that customization continues on with more custom pieces like the flush tailgate, rolled rear pan, and the smoked taillights. While the red has a terrific shine all on its own, we do have some American-style bright work. You see it in places like the large 20-inch Cruiser alloys and door handles. This truck's presentation is great, but you can still use it for true work thanks to the protective bed-liner paint and protective rubber pad. The stance is great, but for those wanting to go lower, I will ship the truck with a set of rear lowering shackles that you can install.
Inside, the bright exterior red paintwork continues, and now it's joined by a tasteful black. You can see this everywhere, including the dash, doors, and carpeting. Even the custom seats follow the two-tone. Relating to the seats, the high-back buckets are power adjustable and even have an armrest center console in-between that raises and makes room for 3. Plus, there are other great upgrades like cup holders, a wood & chrome steering wheel, and an large double DIN JVC head unit (apple car play and android car play capable).
When you look under the hood, you're going to see something distinct inside a super clean engine bay. Though never available in the US in trucks, a Cleveland (351ci) V8 power-plant now resides where the original 300 ci straight 6 engine lived for the life of the original truck. Not only is this a rare vintage power-plant, but it has been upgraded with modern amenities such as Air conditioning, a dual plane Edelbrock intake, Edelbrock fuel sump and programmable Holley Sniper EFI. What this allows for is full engine management, gobs of torque to get the job done, effortless cruising and reliable turn key operation. The Sniper hand held tuner gives you all readouts and adjustability. Exhaust note is a nice rumble, deep and loud thanks to the dual Borla mufflers. Plus, there's an upgraded radiator, a three-speed C6 automatic transmission, power steering, and front disc brakes. So this custom classic is also a great any time cruiser.
A pleasure to drive. Cruises along at 1400 rpm effortlessly doing 45 mph. Oomph when you need it. Highway cruising is a blast. Turning about 2300 rpm at 65, nice and smooth. Nice small lope at idle and you will definitely get noticed on acceleration as those Borlas sound great. Brakes work great and steering is awesome with the power assist. Handling is ala 1978 so maybe not a track day beast without more work.
Truck is up for Auction right now on ebay with $10k opening bid and $24k buy it now. Please see it here - (all questions will be repsonded thru e-bay only)
