Vehicle Description
So, shot in the dark here. Someone interested out there who has a decent zero turn lawn mower? Would be willing negotiate partial trade price if the mower is worth 2000 or less
Heres everybodys favorite style of chevy up for grabs. shes a 1979 GMC C25 and shes got nothing to hide. i can clean her up if you wanna see her clean.
i bought the truck in early 2015 but rebuilt the engine later that year (huge story id rather tell then type out here) and pumped a lot more power out. tore it down and took everything to S&B machine in Kennewick where he cleaned everything spotless and mic'd everything out. My truck got the golden engine. Shes a high nickle block with 4 bolt mains, which is strongest block chevy ever built. These blocks are known to survive thrown rods. But it gets even better. After the machinest cleaned everything up and took his measurements, he informed me that the engine and all parts were orginal, it had never been torn down yet and everything was still within orginal specs, so this engine is Not bored and the crank is Not reground. All specs are standard. So heres what followed.
Through the machine shop he got me flatter topped pistons and new rings, and all new standard sized bearing, as well as having him install new cam bearings. She also got a new oil pump to compliment the rebuild. i didnt go with true flat tops cause im running 54cc high performance heads from a 1989 305 Camero with TPI. Machine shop guy said with those heads and the pistons i chose the compression should be between 10 and 10.5 to one.
AND YES! That brings us to the next great thing about my build. I got the heads from a friend who was rebuilding the 305 but his plans fell through, so he sold me the heads. With these heads the engine is ready for a fuel injected setup to be bolted right on.
And i had the fuel injection in mind when i ordered the camshaft. I got it from the comp cams website, its a step up from stock but not so much that youd have to reprogram the ECU. I also bought new rockers, lifters, and pushrods to go with it. With the current setup ive been running 12 degrees advance with an HEI distributor. The way i built the engine, its supposed to handle more, but I havent messed around with it much since things run perfectly. And things are running perfect on a #1405 Edelbrock carb. Its a 750 cfm carb with mechanical secondaries and cable choke. Ive always loved my cable setup because i can set the high idle where i want.
The transmission is the best you could ask for. The rock solid TH400. I had transmission fluid professionally changed at American Transmission in Kennewick not too long after the rebuild. Trans shifts smoothly and solid. You really gotta drive this thing to fully appreciate the drivetrain. Its killing me to have to explain my truck cause im getting rid of it.
Well lastly, for better looks, shes sporting 16 inch steelies off a 1999 Chevy. The 16.5s that were on it when it, well i got rid them 2 weeks after getting the truck so they are gone. lol. Now you cant even get 16.5 tires without odering them. The current tires have a great amount of tread on them.
So now with all that said shes got a little less than 15k miles since i did the rebuild, and shes already registered as a classic.
This truck is perfect for both sides: if you want a project truck with a straight body, you got it; or if your looking for a truck thats ready to hit the road and pull 3 times it weight, shes ready to go.
Give me a call or text please. It helps me figure out scamming faster.
Almost forgot. Two things. The conopy goes with it. And also the rear window got busted out last year chucking wood. The rear windows for these trucks are CHEAP AND EASY TO INSTALL, i just havent had the time myself. Also out of cheapness i would have gone with a solid peice of glass again, but you can get a split window off a wrecked truck from the junkyard for less than 200 bucks. Perfect chance to have better window than i did.
The engine rebuild alone is almost worth the asking price. Call or text me through the number provided if your interested
The pics look warm cause I was gonna sell her earlier this year. I felt too attached and backed out but now it's a matter of it hurts too much to see a perfectly good running truck sit when it could be out there working. I sadly have no use for her anymore.
Added some new pictures showing the rust. The floor damage is on the driver's side only, the tape is covering a spot where water was splashing inside. But I didn't have to do much driving in the rain, and only drove in snow once. I amazed the gorilla tape held up so well.
At any rate, it's a fairly clean truck. Good luck finding one with less rust for this price.
