Vehicle Description
Vintage 1979 Mercedes 450SLC. This is not a convertible, it's a hard-top coupe with a back seat. The SLC was made in limited numbers (only about 10% of the 237k, R107 models made were coupes) and was Mercedes' most expensive car in 1979.
I'm the third owner and have had it for 10 years. The SLC drives and stops very well. I drive it regularly so is not a "garage queen" and is dependable enough that it was my "daily" for awhile. It has about 122k miles, not much for this bullet-proof V8. The interior is leather and in good shape. Windows, sunroof and locks operate properly. Has upgraded Bluetooth stereo with phone integration (original stereo is in trunk). The car is over 40 so has a few issues: the climate control does not operate properly. I hit a post at a gas station and put a dent in the passenger side ( the door was not hit and closes fine). The paint was faded when I got it. The neutral safety switch needs to be replaced so the car will only start in neutral. It's a $40 part but I lack the motivation. Car has a lot of potential with a little TLC. Price reduced because of paint and body, $7500 firm
