Vehicle Description
Last year of the Beetle. most advanced of the famous model.
-Bought it four years ago from the 2nd local owner, for my wife. We are selling it as she can no longer put the top up or down.
-The car was repainted by the 1st owner from the factory Blue Metallic (LK6V) to a factory color Peach Red Metallic (LE3Y). Was told by PO the (1st owner) wife didn't like the blue.
-The milage shown is 31350. The PO stated he bought the car with about 25000 miles from the elderly original owners. It was his wife's summer toy and drove it sparingly during they're 16 yrs. of ownership. My wife has put only 240 miles on it during our ownership plus the 60 freeway miles when I drove it home after purchase.
-I see no indication of the 1.6 L Fuel injected engine being removed. The previous owner stated he had not performed or had any engine/trans work other than Maintenace and he replaced the muffler. The PO installed the Falken 185/65 x 15 tires, dated code 8/15, mounted on alum. sport wheels. The original wheels are available.
-I replaced the front bumper due to polishing scratches; original bumper comes with the car and just changed the oil and adjusted the valves.
-The PO replaced the carpet with new factory type with sound proofing and a new top a few years ago.
-There is no damage or rust on any body panel. The rails and running boards are prefect. A repair (patch) was applied to the rear of the driver's floor pan and minor repair to the same area on the passenger's side and are now rust free. The floor pans forward are like new.
-The paint shines up nicely but touch up is necessary for a number of typical small chips and scratches. All the glass is original and perfect. Rubber seals are very good, but I will include some new ones I have for the top and windows.
-An after-market JVC KD-G200, 200W removable face AM/FM CD stereo is installed with 4" Pioneer speakers mounted in the door panels.
-It's a great fun little car increasing in value per Hagerty by 18.2% in just the last year. Current #3 "good" condition cars are valued at 20.1k. Current auction prices for a car in this condition are in line at 18 to 25k.
-My wife will miss it but she needs a power top.
The car has been dry stored during the 20yrs of ours and the PO's ownership, brought out on only for sunny day drives.
offers will be considered.
