Vehicle Description
I am the third owner (for 26 years) of this 1980 International Scout 2. One of the very last scouts to be built. Lived in NM and CO its whole life. Not much rust, frame is solid. Original 345 v8, T-19 4 speed trans, Dana 20 transfer case. I also have the original coveted Dana 300 transfer case included in the sale and lots of extra parts. 99,416 miles.
The good: Brand new 4” lift with shocks, bushings, braided brake lines. 33” tires with new steel wheels. New aluminum radiator. New battery. New floor pan, rocker panel and body mount on passenger side. Rebuilt heads with new valve job, valve seals. Most engine gaskets replaced. Whole bed area was sanded to bare metal (no rust holes) primed and coated with bed liner.
The bad: needs front rotors and brakes. Driver side floor pan, rocker panel and body mount needs replacing. Has a few dents and dings. Has been sitting for over 10 years. Starts and idles smooth but not road worthy, would need to be trailered.
I have had so many great adventures in this truck, really don’t want to sell it, but I am moving to where things rust quickly, priorities have changed and would like to see it go to a good home where someone will restore it and drive it.
