Vehicle Description
It's time this gem took someone else on an adventure.
1980 Mercedes-Benz 300TD
W123
She's aged well, and has around 210,000 or less, I would estimate. The odometer stopped working around when I bought it 7 years ago. Its stuck at 138k.
The engine runs really well.
It was a daily driver for a short time, but after getting a car better suited for traffic, I have only been driving it on the weekends.
Work done to the car:
All done by Top Shop Auto (well respected shop in Santa Barbara):
-$4000 New Transmission 2k miles ago
- New Vacuum done 300 miles ago
- New Valve cover seal 300 miles ago
They have all records on file.
It has the capacity to run on veggie, and was converted by the previous owner. I prefer using diesel for the power increase.
There is no AC but there are windows!
Further important info:
-The original paint color is the baby blue and was repainted by the previous owner to a dark metallic emerald green.
-There is some rust.
-Speedometer cluster doesn't work, but the car doesn't go past 80mph anyways so its never bothered me.
-No heat, but does blow defrosters.
-Power windows work decently well on all windows except the drivers side. I think the rail that attaches to the glass might have come off but the glass is fully intact. You can guide it up and down with your hands but I just roll the others down.
Its a great car for the beach, surf, car camping and around town.
All around a great car, and I hate to part with her.
Happy to answer any questions!
