Vehicle Description
For sale is my 1980 Mercury Capri. The car has the rear "Bubble window" hatch and taillights from a 1984 Capri. 109K miles.
2.3L four cylinder, 4 speed. No power steering, No power brakes. Original AM radio that works very well! I average 20 mpg around town and 27 mpg on the highway @75mph. Drive train is excellent including the clutch. The engine has good oil pressure and has no bad noises, leaks or problems. Does not smoke. Somewhere in it's life a previous owner installed aftermarket air conditioning. Everything is there on the car, but I did not have the time to determine why it does work. It holds a charge. All gauges work.
I stripped the car down to bare metal and repaired every metal issue that I could find before painting it with epoxy primer, 4 coats of 2014 Corvette emerald green base coat and 3 coats of clear. I also covered the complete floor pan with new sound deadener. The car appears to be black unless the sun is on your side of the car, showing the beautiful green metallic.
The car has excellent tires all the way around. Everything that needed to be replaced to make this car a solid, reliable, safe car for me was replaced or rebuilt.
The only thing this car needs is to have the front seats re-upholstered (or covered) and if you like A/C, then that needs to be fixed. Other than that, this is a great condition economical car that rides nice and smooth and quiet, even at 75mph, which it did this past weekend to Long Island and back. All you have to do is put plates on it and enjoy!
