Vehicle Description
I am selling my fun weekend car. It’s a 1981 Mercury Zephyr, it is Mercury’s version of the Ford Fairmont. It’s basically a slightly longer foxbody mustang.
I have the clean and clear Colorado title in hand. I have owned it for about a year and was planning to keep it as a long term project to wrench on in the winters, and drive through the summers, but I just got a job in California and I can’t take this with me unfortunately.
I have driven this around town, and from Colorado Springs to Pueblo on multiple occasions and it runs great. It starts up the first time and gets you where you need to go. It surprisingly hasn’t left me stranded. I have put about 1500 miles on it since the I converted it to fuel injection and it has consistently ran better than the previous carb setup.
It gets up to 215 degrees on hot days in heavy stop and go traffic, but is usually never gets above 190 degrees on on normal street driving.
It has a stutter occasionally at wide open throttle on warmer days. I’m thinking it has something to do with fueling, but it hasn’t bothered me much. If you roll into the throttle instead of stabbing it, it runs like a bat outta hell.
Also has a cracked windshield
