Our ownership and why we're selling:
We purchased this bus near the beginning of COVID, about two years ago. We've owned 15+ VWs and are big German Engineering fans. We recently build another ORV vehicle and realized we don't need two camping rigs, and we have another classic car project we're looking to finish. It's the right time for her to move on.
We've taken great care (with a book of records to prove it) to sort all the major issues. With proper maintenance, you won’t need to worry about engine or transmission for 100k miles. Automatic transmission - anyone can drive it.
Over $17,000 in mostly recent receipts come with the vehicle.

At 99,071 miles/ March 2021, we had the automatic transmission rebuilt by Aamco in Santa Cruz (wonderful people up there). The transmission has an 18-month warranty that expires April 2022. She runs amazingly well and can take any hill. Slowly, but surely.
There is some rust along the drip rails and in the front windshield cowl. We already purchased the replacement nose cone and got an estimate for the labor for $1,800.00 but we don't have the time to oversee the project right now. The van also shows normal dings and wear, as to be expected from a 40-year-old beach / california recreational vehicle. Nothing too concerning, but she will need to spend some time in the paint booth in the next few years by our guess, if you care about that sort of thing. We've had many bus guys tell us that's just part of the gig.
Both front seats swivel and are not locked but can get stuck if not used often.
We have gone through and made sure the squeaks and rattles are nearly non-existent, which makes for a wonderful driving experience.
Asking price is a modest $32,000 obo. If you compare online you will see many comparable vans selling in high 30s and low 40s, I believe with the small paint issues on this bus repaired it would be commanding closer to 38. Looking for the right owner to pass her on to. Not in a hurry to sell.
Clean title, in hand. Current Registration. Replaced engine. Brand New automatic transmission with Warranty.
All original camper cabinetry. Beautiful camper, ready to go as-is or an excellent candidate for a restoration.
Passed smog with flying colors (all California smog EGR requirements met!), smog cert in hand. Will be renewing registration this month, one less thing for the new owner to worry about.
Serious buyers only. Do not need help selling. Certainly not in a hurry.
