1982 VW T3 Doka Transporter

Runs great!

All Legal. Registration and safety current. Seats 6 plus a 6’ bed with fold down walls for easy loading. Good tires,
New shocks and brakes.
4 cyl 2100 double carb motor is air cooled.
4 spd manual tranny
122,500 km ( about 80k miles)
on odometer, but it stopped working about 4 yrs ago.
Speedometer still works, actual miles are estimated at around 100,000.
Since I have been in possession, it has been in the care of our certified VW mechanic on island.
He says this is the best motor available in its time and should have many years of life remaining.
All original parts and motor, never rebuilt. Runs strong and starts right up. It likes to run for about 5 minutes at idle before driving. Solid frame, never wrecked.
Plenty of dry cargo space under rear seat and in separate compartment under bed.

This classic doka truck was originally imported from Germany to Kauai.
A famous 70’s musician was the original owner until he sold it to a big fan in 2006. In his care, the truck was repainted and well cared for in his garage. It became his daily driver and when he sold it to me in 2018, it became my daily driver. Living on an island with a top speed of 50mph, it has been the ideal work and family vehicle. The kids love getting dropped off at school in such style! As fun and unique as it is, this special truck deserves more care than i can give it. Frame is solid but body has rust and some bondo rust repair.

It runs great and looks good as is but could be taken to the next level of restoration by the right person.
I would love to see this truck into the care of someone who can really take good care of it.
It is a local legend on Kauai., not another one like it.
