Vehicle Description
I got this from a friend in a trade. Got it running, rebuilt the brake calipers, installed new rotors, new battery, got a new wheel to replace the cracked one. It fires up and runs great! Glow plug system is good, injectors all firing, .
I was tracing down a short in the taillight and I discovered the real problem of the car, the floor is gone.
Not like, there’s a hole, the floor pans are more gone than there.
Somebody with more time than me can order new pans (I’ll to help find the part, it’s about $350 for new pans) and weld or rivet them on and be ready to roll.
Besides the floor, there’s some surface rust on the bottom of the doors and wheel well, but nothing terrible.
All the glass is in great shape, doors, back hatch, hood, sunroof, et cetera are good to fair condition.
The interior is rough (cause the floor is gone!)
That lil Mercedes’ diesel is a workhorse engine, and I understand it’s pretty popular for swapping into other cars.
This is a car for a tinkerer. Are you that tinkerer?
