Vehicle Description
barn find/ estate find. this car has been stored in a barn for 20 years. RUST FREE!
1984 vw rabbit convertible mk1 (same exact car as a vw cabriolet, but not branded cabriolet until 1985)
1.8L fuel injected engine. engine has freshly rebuilt fuel distributor, new bosch injectors, new plugs, new wires, new cap and rotor. brand new bosch fuel pump. fresh gas (tank and lines have been flushed). runs great!
manual transmission
factory a/c car- not working
nice cloth interior. drivers seat not ripped or broken down.
*new top 80% installed, new retention cable (holds top to body) Since pictures, the top has been secured and stretched. It just needs final trim work and rear window installed.
good glass
aluminum wheels and like new (20 year old) tires.
needs brake work- i haven't gotten to that yet.
clutch is good, new exhaust (20 years ago), but still looks great
car is complete, but interior as been pulled to check floor boards
i would consider this a rust free barn find. yes a few surface spots that have been touched up 20 years ago.
original paint otherwise. floor boards are in great shape!
I have way more invested into this car, around $3500. It has SO much potential!
I bought this with the intentions of driving it personally. It was a project of passion, as my wife had the identical car she sold a year before we met. We have mutually agreed that we need to let someone else have it!
The reason for selling is it is taking up one of my work shop bays, and blocking what could be profits. I bought the car a year ago at a 97 year old man's estate auction. I've had it parked inside. It was in his dirt floor pole shed-this is a good thing never has seen moisture since it was driven 20 years ago. The car is SO cool! It is so close to being finished, but I am so behind on everything else. Car must be trailered away. (because of brakes)
will sacrifice for $2500 (I have over $3500 invested)
