Vehicle Description
1985 BMW 325e. 5sp. No rust. Cloth interior, limited slip differential. Mileage unknown (instrument cluster swapped prior to my ownership.) It has a few small dents that could be messaged out by a paintless dent guy. Two hairline cracks in dash: one over instrument cluster, one to left of instrument cluster. Car is very clean for its age, drives well, looks sharp. Suspension is firm.
Here are the details.
AC blows cold.
Factory radio wired for bluetooth (it's pretty slick)
Two sets of wheels: 1) Bridgestone Potenza 205 50 R15 very sticky, approximately 50% tread left, mounted on TR Motorsport 15x7" wheels. And, 2) 195 60 R14 Yokohama Ice Guards on original bottle cap wheels; approximately 50% tread left.
Within last five years:
Alternator rebult
Both fuel pumps replaced, including fuel pressure regulators
New front windshield
Fuel injectors cleaned by Ravenworks
Suspension Techniques front and rear seat bars
Front control arm bushings
Bavarian Autosport springs (lowered about 1")
Bilstein sport shocks
Lemfoerder sway bar links
02 sensor
Battery brand new
Most everything works except:
Coolant temp gauge (I tried everything)
On board computer needs new light strip
Reclining seat back shocks are dead
Before long, it needs the following:
Rear subframe bushings need to be replaced. They creak a bit and the car doesn't hold a perfect alignment. Also, left rear trailing arm sway bar link connection broken. I have all parts to do the subframe bushings replacement, including a new left trailing arm. These parts include the guibo, exhaust hardware, all related bushings, and stainless steel brake lines. All of this comes with the car, including Bentley manual and other extras.
Car loses fuel pressure when it sits overnight so needs to turn over for about 5 seconds on the first start. I'm not sure where it's losing pressure but my next guess would be fuel injector o-rings.
Otherwise, it drives well and gets lots of thumbs ups! It has been very reliable in the five years I've owned it.
I do not need assistance selling this car.
