Vehicle Description
1985 Mazda RX-7 For Sale - $10,000 OBO
This is meant to be a local pickup...if you are not in the Eastern Iowa area and need the car transported, it will be your responsibility to set that up. I will cooperate if I can.
I restored this car from 2004 – 2009. Nearly complete ground up restoration (I did not paint the bottom). I did all the engine work, electrical work, and all cleaning and painting other than the body itself...that was done by Complete Automotive in Center Point, Iowa (body work and paint alone cost over $8000). The housings in the original 12B were shot, but the car came with a spare engine...a 13B 6 port. I rebuilt this engine myself and had a machine shop install new bearings. I picked up an Atkins supercharger and stuck a Holley 650 double pumper on it. There is no intercooling so boost is limited, but it's still a very cool setup.

Wired to control power door locks
Miscellaneous
Relays installed to power the power windows
Relays installed to power the headlights
Dunlop Direzza tires
Koenig wheels
Body and paint work by Complete Automotive in Center Point (over $8000)
No Air Conditioning
Flaws
Driver's side door lock trim piece missing
Minor paint scrape in middle of driver's door (I tried to get a picture but the reflection wouldn't allow it)
Very small scratch at top of passenger's side door
Cruise control quit working a while back...might be just a loose plug on the back of the gauge cluster
Burns oil – quite certain this is because I have the OMP wired about half way open
Digital gauges:
Oil temp – works well
Mixture – works well
Boost – doesn't work
Fuel pressure – several segments of the display are out
Steering wheel is smaller than the original and the top of it hides the tops of the gauges
No air conditioning
I put a lot of time and money into this car and it's a beauty. It's tons of fun to drive, so I hate to sell it, but I just don't drive it much any more. I hope it goes to a good home. I have 4 cars and will be trying to sell two of them.
