Used 1985 Mercedes 250D 3.0 turbo diesel Euro model for sale in Santa Maria, CA

1985 Mercedes W124 250D automatic with a swapped OM603 3.0 Turbo Diesel. 237K. This is a euro spec vehicle originally sold in Germany to an American buyer who toured Europe with the car and then shipped it home to Los Angeles. Unlike the USA spec cars, this is a more bare-bones optioned car with cloth seats, manual climate control and hand crank windows. It does have AC and a power sunroof. The original long time owner managed a Porsche repair shop and used this car to commute to work. The second owner did some tasteful cosmetic changes which included powder coated 17” CLK style AMG wheels, H&R lowering springs and wheel-color matched powder coated grill and emblems. When we acquired the vehicle it had low compression on one cylinder, in the original OM602 NA engine. We sourced a very good engine for the swap with 150K miles from a 1987 300D. The tires are new and much of the suspension and steering has been replaced. The exterior is Ascot gray, and the paint is mostly original. We had the left front fender repainted to correct some fading. There are a few thin spots on the paint on the roof but overall the paint shows very well. The body is very straight and has no rust. On the interior, the dash does have a few cranks, and the driver seat shows some wear. It is still very presentable. The engine is very strong, starts well cold, and makes great power. The transmission shifts perfectly. This car has a great feel to it and for me is the perfect combination of modern and classic with a euro flare!
